    We are shocked by the brutal violence and hatred that has come to light with the attacks by the Islamist terrorist organization Hamas against people in Israel and the attacks and hostilities against Jewish institutions and people also here in Germany.

    Our deep sympathy and solidarity is with the victims and hostages, their families and all people affected by the violence in the region.

    In accordance with our mission statement, freedom and human rights, democracy and the rule of law guide our actions and we actively oppose discriminatory, derogatory and exclusionary behavior. We therefore resolutely oppose any terror and hatred, extremism or racism and stand unreservedly for a peaceful world based on solidarity.
