In this dialogue-based exhibition tour, an art educator will provide insights into the exhibition Pictures and Pasts – 75 Years of the Association of German Artists and the history of the Kunsthaus Dahlem building and its use over the past decades. We take works of art as a starting point for a joint conversation.

The art educator and artist Karen Michelsen Castañón will guide the tour. In her work at the intersection of arts and education, she questions how (colonial) histories – the dominant ones and those rendered invisible – are re-enacted in our everyday lives. How does this relate to current politics? She focuses on stories that are triggered by personal experiences and encounters. Each tour she guides is shaped by the perspectives every visitor brings into the exhibition space.
