We cordially invite you and your friends to the soft opening of our next exhibition “Erich Buchholz – Art History is a Single Fake” on November 26 + 27. The exhibition is dedicated to the little-known pioneer of constructive and concrete art, Erich Buchholz. His studio in Berlin, which he converted into perhaps the first environment in art history in 1922, was an important meeting place for the artistic avant-garde. A walk-in, true-to-scale reconstruction of his studio will be on display as part of the exhibition.
Opening together with the Academy of Fine Arts Munich.
Supporting program in cooperation with ICI Berlin.
Students in Olaf Nicolai’s class at the Munich Academy of Fine Arts are creating an exciting program for the forthcoming opening of the exhibition »Erich Buchholz – Art History is a Single Fake«. On November 26 and 27, 2022, the students plan a wide variety of interventions. Visitors are invited to observe, interact and participate.
The content of the program focuses on questions relating to places of artistic production. Some works refer to the Erich Buchholz studio, while others reflect the conception of the National Socialist building on Käuzchensteig as a studio building and its conversion as a museum from 2014.
Still others see the project as a platform for exchange and would like to enter into a dialogue with visitors about external topics.
