As artists, we are drawn to the dynamic interplay between movement and sound, and the emotions and stories they can convey. AFKAR, is a performance to honour the memory of Erich Buchholz, through an interdisciplinary collaboration between a dancer and a musician who experienced exile. That aims to create a unique and immersive experience for the audience, and them self, inviting everyone to engage with art in a new and innovative way.

Ali Hasan, A percussionist with Syrian roots, a passion for innovation, and a sound that defies boundaries. He has performed across Europe, at top venues in Berlin including the Humboldt Forum, Berliner Philharmonie and in Radial System for Dabke Community Dance by Sasha Waltz & Guests. He collaborated and practiced under the supervision of notable artists in Berlin, including Sasha Waltz, Grandmaster Shi Yan Lin, and Master Mohammad Riza Mortazwi. Blending traditional middle eastern rhythms with modern Western beats, Ali creates a sound that is truly his own – electrifying, dynamic, and unforgettable.
