AUTHENTIC PORTRAITS? Photography workshop for young people from 16 years and adults with photographer Michelle Martins Carvalho.
What makes a good portrait? How can I capture the true personality of my subject in a single photograph? And is that even possible?
In this workshop, we will learn to observe subjects closely and develop the sensitivity to perceive subtle gestures, expressions and facial expressions that give each portrait its uniqueness. We will work to create images that tell stories and touch the viewer. We will draw inspiration from the artist Peter Laszlo Péri, whose works showed a great interest in people, their way of life and relationships. Since the 1930s, he focused on depicting the everyday life of ordinary people and was a good observer of his time. In doing so, he also pursued a political cause.
Feel free to bring your own camera.
We ask for registration by 12/10/2023 at outreach@kunsthaus-dahlem.de or by phone at 030 – 83 22 72-58.
