Statement on the attack at Berlin CSD on 25 July 2026

We are appalled by the deadly attack at this yearʼs Berlin CSD and extend our heartfelt solidarity to everyone directly and indirectly affected by this act of violence.

We stand with the LGBTQIA+ community and with everyone whose sense of safety and belonging has been shaken, and wish all those injured a full recovery.

In light of this attack and the responsibilities it reminds us of, we call on our colleagues across the cultural sector – and on ourselves – to do more to challenge queerphobia and all forms of discrimination and intolerance through sustained cultural work, in our programmes and in the ways we shape our spaces.
