About the talk

For Melanie Ender, material is an active counterpart in the creative process and embodies what the political philosopher Jane Bennett calls “thing-power”. In the artist talk, we will discuss what this means in theory, particularly in New Materialism, and in practice. We will also explore the impressions and ideas that emerged through the artist’s dialogue with Kunsthaus Dahlem during the development of the installation created specifically for this site.
